The reality of delivering Nature Based Solutions in urban areas

This is a free webinar and you do not need to be a CIWEM* member.

From the CIWEM website:

As the demand for development continues, there is an ever-increasing pressure on our urban drainage networks. Flooding already happens too often, and the risk is set to increase as a result of climate change.

As a society we need to find ways for communities to live safely close to floodwater. We need a planning and regulatory system that can accommodate the needs of flood water and communities. Space is tight in urban areas, we must be creative and make the most of the wider benefits. We need to take advantage of new ways of working to manage water in our urban areas; to divert and store rainwater to the right places, and away from people’s homes. Nature based solutions (NBS) can help us mitigate for the impacts of climate change.
