Organic September

Organic September – Organic September is a month-long campaign to raise awareness of the many benefits of organic food and farming.

Organic September celebrates all the organic sector does for climate, nature, and health.

But nature urgently needs our help. Emissions from fossil-fuel based nitrogen fertilisers used in intensive farming are contributing to the climate emergency.

Our rigorous standards ban the use of these fertilisers in organic systems. But we need to send a message to the government that urgent action is needed.

Solitary Bee Week

Solitary Bee Week  - about raising awareness for the solitary bees.

With over 240 species in the UK, they make up 90% of the bee population and along with other pollinating animals are responsible for one third of all the food we eat. However, like our honeybees and bumblebees, they are under threat and need our help.

Power hour for Litter Pickers

Huge thanks to the amazing team of people who litter picked last evening! What an incredibly disgusting amount of rubbish we found! 🤢
Cans and bottles were found tucked in bushes and dumped on the river bank and in the water! Old clothes, takeaway food packaging and sweet wrappers were found in all sorts of places! 😝
And, as usual, the most numerous item was cigarette butts, so please do get in touch if you or your staff/friends/colleagues would like a free stub tidy pack, we have lots to give away!

Wimborne Green Groups take a stand

Planet Wimborne, together with other community green groups, including Wimborne War on Waste (WWoW), Win on Waste, Wilding Wimborne & the Minster Environment Group, had stands over both days of Wimborne Folk Festival (11-12th June). This was Planet Wimborne’s first chance to talk to the public about all things environmental, and folk came along for a good chat, particularly about what they could recycle and get fixed.
